WHYBIN\TBWA TEQUILA
WINS B&T AGENCY OF THE YEAR

The fact Whybin\TBWA Tequila was voted B&T Advertising Agency of the Year is testament to the consistently high-level of work it produced – across all media – over the judging period. A market-leading new business position, coupled to an awesome international awards-haul, some great case studies and a strong body of work also helped.

The agency was the most awarded across both Australia and New Zealand at Cannes 2007 and its Auckland office became the only agency in the southern hemisphere to have ever won two Grand Prix at Cannes in the same year – for Adidas and ASB Bank (jointly with OMD). And as well as chalking up those victories, Tequila churned out hit after hit in the digital space – highlights included eBay Conga Lin, Battle of the Bronchs (for GSK) and Cyber Lion-winning work for NewLine Cinema.

Meanwhile, overall revenue and pre-tax profits grew at the rate that made it the strongest-performing financial year since Whybin\TBWA entered the market back in 1995. The jury said: “The work was impressive – of a very high standard. The online efforts from Tequila were outstanding. They showed they are capable of really lifting a campaign online.”

The competition was fierce in this category with a tiny margin separating the first three agencies. As a result, BMF and Leo Burnett are both highly commended.

The jury were blown away by the “Earth Hour” case study put forward by Leo Burnett and when it came to BMF, the agency’s body of work and stellar new-business performance really impressed.
